Careers2Geaux- Business Application

Careers2Geaux is a website that’s mainly geared towards LSU students. It helps students prepare for interviews, and find a job that would suit them best. A student can create a competitive resume that will help them find a job. A student can also send a resume to several companies that are looking for employees.

Approaching my senior year I’m appreciative that LSU has such an application as CarreersToGeaux. It used to be called TigerTrak, and my sister used it when she was in her last semester at LSU. She actually found a job through the program so I think it would be a good idea for me to use it, too. You can access the blog through your PAWS account. It's the first option under the Student Services tab.

Webassign

Webassign- Educational



Webassign is an educational application that basically creates an online class. It allows teachers to create homework and quizzes that are graded instantly, and they can easily monitor progress throughout the semester, too. Students can also rework problems they may have missed, and it provides feedback for the students.


Personally, I use Webassign often. For my both my chemistry and physics classes we had homework that was due every week. I would log into the Webassign website, and I could open up the homework that was due that week. I found it very beneficial because I could go back to all the old assignments, practice the problems, and study for an upcoming test. Although students have to pay for an access code to receive an account, teachers can create an account for free.

eBuddy Mobile Messenger

eBuddy Mobile Messenger- Cell Phone Technology

The mobile phone technology that I chose is eBuddy Mobile Messenger. It’s an instant messaging application. You can have all your friends from multiple IM accounts, such as Yahoo, MSN, and Facebook, on one buddy list. With this application you can instant message people, send a picture into a chat, and set an away message with a display picture. All you have to do is make sure your phone recognizes and connects to the website I have listed as a resource, choose a language, make an eBuddy ID, add the account, and then you can start to chat with all of your friends!

I would definitely use this application because I have so many friends that are all on different IM accounts, and it would be nice to collaborate everyone on one network. Also, it’s faster than texting someone so I could use it when I needed an immediate response.
